Remember early Metallica? "For Whom the Bell Tolls"? I loved that shit.
The image is of storm clouds vaguely in the shape of a monster.
This song is the Existential Dreadniks at their most potent: highlighting existential dread! It's like "Something Wicked This Way Comes" but it's Something Large [that's] Drawing Near.
A shadow blots the ancient sun
The ground begins to quake, undone
A distant roar, a growing dread
Something ancient rears its head
Very Lovecraftian - although I'm glad that it's not Howard on vocals.
Something large, the stars shall bend
Something we cannot comprehend
Something the mind cannot contain
When it leaves, will we be sane?
After experiencing that? Seems unlikely...
